Ceramic, dirt, cover crops

S1V1_4 are the first iterations of an ongoing series of sculptural plantings. The ceramic forms are sown at the start of the summer with cover crops including, mammoth red clover, hairy vetch, peas, oats, and alfalfa. At the end of the season the forms are flipped and cracked open to reveal the root structures grown inside. After display, the plantings return to the garden where they degrade over the fall and winter before being replanted the following spring.
